Benefits, of Practitioner Membership to the SCMA
The benefits of being a practitioner member of the SCMA are as follows. You will
- Receive a certificate showing that you are a registered member of the SCMA
- Receive a BCMA license to practice registration card.
- Receive automatic affiliation to the British Complementary Medicine Association (BCMA)
- Have the right to use the BCMA & SCMA name and logo on your stationary and website.
- Be entitled to use the initials MBCMA & or MSCMA after your name
- Receive a free listing on the SCMA & LWF websites at www.scma.org.uk and www.reikiscotland.co.uk
- Receive Referrals in your area from SCMA & LWF websites
- Receive access to a competitive quote for complementary therapy insurance.
- Have access to Reiki Master Teacher Support via email or telephone contact.
- Be welcome to attend any Reiki sharing day/workshops organised by the LWF.
- Have the opportunity to update your skills and be issued with an advanced certificate (on completion & submission of 6 case studies and an assessment paper. (Fee payable)
- Have the opportunity to update your working manual to the most recent level. On completion of your evaluation you may choose to purchase 1st Degree Reiki Manual (43 pages) £25 and / or 2nd Degree Reiki Manual (34 pages) £25
- Have free access to online courses in a multitude of subjects
Terms & Conditions of Practitioner Membership to the SCMA
Membership is open to everyone providing that they meet the following requirements. You will
- Be expected to participate in *VSR (voluntary self regulation)
- Be expected to meet the Rules & Regulations of the BCMA (British Complementary Medicine Association)
- Be expected to meet the Rules & Regulations of the SCMA (BCMA adopted)
- Be expected to have been trained by a recognised LWF (Lightworkers Foundation) master teacher
or a master teacher inspected or approved by the SCMA
or about to participate in a LWF Usui Tibetan Reiki training course.
or about to participate in a SCMA inspected or approved training course.
If you have not been trained by any of the above, you will be expected to participate in a test paper and submit 4 recent case studies for evaluation. The test fee is £15.
*VSR (Voluntary Self Regulation) is a process that was the original concept of the BCMA in the late 1980’s and a professional approach to self discipline and accountability that was defined in a report compiled by the House of Lords in 2000. VSR calls on all professionals practicing complementary skills to
- Train to an agreed minimum standard,
- Adhere to agreed standards of conduct,
- Conform to agreed standards of therapy delivery
- And support ongoing education to further hone skills over time.
